Noelville Seniors Complex Location: Noelville, Ontario Project Cost: $7,000,000 Prime Consultant: CH2 Architecture Inc. The design of this 35,000 square foot, 32-unit seniors’ complex is inspired by the history of the French River, which is a historic voyageur area explored by Samuel de Champlain. The city of Noelville endeavors to brand itself using the motif of the voyageur canoe. Included in this strategy is the construction of a large scale canoe paddle for the city’s shoreline. The seniors’ complex will be built using solar power, geothermal, day-lighting strategies, sustainable and local materials and labour, making it one of the greenest buildings in Canada. The facility will include private apartments and common areas including gathering space for meetings, communal gardens, fire pit, and dining lounge. |
